Tamarini's Blog Hop - courtesy of Island Batik

Welcome to the next stop on Tamarini's Blog Hop tour - you've come to my new blog site. One Quilting Circle.  This is my chance to participate in a  group project for the Island Batik Ambassadors. and I've gotten a chance to meet some very creative new faces along the way.Tamarini (aka Tammy Silvers) is teaching her very first Craftsy class this month, and invited several of us to play along and preview some of the  projects covered in the class.Island Batik called to ask me what colors of fabrics I wanted to use in the project - have I mentioned that this is a dream job?  And they arrived very quickly, too!The fabrics (see right) were to be used in my block for the Quilt in the class, a neat flip and sew technique that gives you a whimsical garden to work from.  The pattern is called Mary's Contrary Garden; once I got over my fondness for right angles, and just relaxed and played...it went together quite easily.I went from here  to here quite easily. That orange frame is a fussy cut frame that Tammy includes as an option in the pattern; my flower was heavily wonky and needed to be 'edited'...that the word I'm going with.  By using the frame - sorry, the only poster board in the studio was orange, I was able to frame it and get the block so I could use it.Voila! I hope that you're enjoying the Blog Hop, and that you have taken the chance to enter the giveaways along the way.  Tomorrow, we're adding another of the designers to the list, and we get to see Ambassador Susan Vassallo  participate on the tour.I am also offering a give away to celebrate my first participation in an Island Batik project...My Facebook fan count jumped 86 people since the Blog Hop announcement this past week.  My giveaway is also from Island Batik, but we're celebrating Christmas in July...I have 6 Fat Quarters (and they are yummy) for you.
