Monday Musings - Learning new tricks!

I have a confession to make to you all...I hope that you won't think bad of me when I am done. And then there is my feeling about zippers. To be avoided. At all costs. Like the plague. I've been known to make Andy an Indian costume when he was in elementary school using shoe lace drawstrings rather than a zipper - yes, I was one of THOSE moms.In life, as in quiltmaking, I have long held to the belief that if you want something bad enough, you will find a way to make it happen. It's served me well for quite awhile, and  I have often found out that I can do more than I think.I have been thinking of making myself a portable sewing organizer bag for several months - there are some cute ones out there. Most of them involve a zipper, so I just kept walking. Then I found it - the one I wanted.20150727_121913_resized After having read my posts as part of the My Favorite Things blog hop for @Island Batik, you know that I love things that help me stay organized.  There are a couple of bags floating out there like this, this one is the Bionic Gear bag...the first time I saw it I was hooked. But the zippers...all the zippers.Well, I dove into the zipper pool on Friday night, and I have lived to tell the tale.  I wish I hadn't wasted all that time avoiding them like the plague. It kind of makes me wonder what else I have been saying no to, when I could have been saying yes.  I think I'll take the quilting bucket list out and check it again.
