Monday Musings - If I had a She Shed...

And I'm back after an unexpected hiatus in my blogging schedule. It's been a ridiculous week of delivering finished Row by Row quilts to shops, bus trips, customer projects - I'm not even sure where the last two weeks went. However, last week on Facebook I posted a picture that garnered a lot of interest (and organic at that) about a post which came up regarding She Sheds.10172810_10153014981524091_3381466194659954404_nApparently, it's the female equivalent of a man cave in a house - but it's in the backyard.  Here's a link from WABC 7 News in SanFrancisco to the story behind the Facebook photo...It's quite an impressive get away location, and that can be worth its' weight in gold.Several of the comments on my page regarding She Sheds indicate that they'd serve as a great outdoor studio - I'm not sure that's practical.  I want something more spacious than a 10' x 12' getaway. If I had one, I wouldn't use it as a sewing studio or craft space, but instead as  a space where I'd read, daydream or just sit outside and watch the clouds roll by. Everyone needs that.Since I went down this path in my head, I did a little decorating - nothing really out there - but I have to warn you, if you go to Pinterest and click on She Sheds - you'll be gone for daysI have the 5 essentials - besides great books to read! - narrowed down. I'm not making any apologies for this being a feminine retreat...I have lived with men my entire married life - I swear I was attracted to quilting because of the beautiful florals. The furniture would be (yeah, I know - completely impractical) white wicker chairs - rocking chairs, no less, and they would have fresh crisp blue and white cushions on them - the fabric would be cool to the touch on even the muggiest of summer days.  Something like this - white wicker images (1) For lighting, I'd want a chandelier that was just large enough to be pretty (and add decent lighting).  The walls would be painted a soft guazy turquoise color.  I'd want to hang a photo of the Eiffel Tower in there to remind me of faraway places that I have seen and want to remember. And I want beautiful blue hydrangeas on the outiside.A girl can dream, can't she? What would you put in your She Shed (or, if you prefer, your Zen Den?
