I'm pretty sure that coupled with last night's blog post, tonight's post is going to make you think that I shouldn't be allowed near a quarter inch seam. Like many of you, I have fallen in love with Missouri Star Quilt Company's Disappearing Hourglass block - here's a link to the video tutorial on YouTube.  I had a stash of fabrics that I wanted to pair with the block, and I thought it would make a great quilt for the family room this winter.Jenny Doan, I adore you - but you make it look to easy.  This is a photo of block # 9 on my instagram feed this morning...That sickening feeling that you get when you Know that you just messed up a block? - checkThat frustrated feeling when you put it aside and head for the wine glass that's calling your name - double check (and wine was not responsible for the screw up).I took it out this week, and took a good hard look at it.  The top and bottom blocks on that left column were really quite easy.That middle block took me a while to figure out the math to make it work correctly...but I figured it out.  Patting myself on the back for that one!Here's the block on the design wall...it's the bottom one.  You'll never be able to tell it when it's all put together.  I still love the fabrics and the pattern - and when you don't mess it up, it's a piece of cake.Til tomorrow...
