Welcome to my little corner of the world, and my day in the Little Gems Blog Hop. This is a group project by the Island Batik Ambassadors, and I’ve been having a blast with my piece. Connie Kauffman has a wonderful book that I’ve had a lot of fun checking out – I couldn’t stop with just my project.
I am NOT a paper piecing novice, but I had never worked with a pineapple block before, and Tranquility (don’t you love the name?) gave me the chance to do just that…in all kinds of soft colors that just seemed to blend.
Here are some of the blocks scattered before I put them together…
This is one of the latest finished Island Batik projects that I have to share – I have others in process, and I love working with the fabric sccraps. Connie’s book is great for playing with your fabric.
The book is published by Martingale, and each of the Island Batik Ambassadors is being given a copy of Little Gems for the readers of her blog post to win. I’m also doing a product giveaway – but it’s not fabric. Island Batik also make a line of gorgeous Rayon Batik scarves, and I have one that I will be giving away on Monday.
Just leave a comment on the bottom of the blog, and I’ll be picking 2 winners — one for the ebook and one for the scarf, to be announced on Monday. Each of the blogs has a chance to win the book, so if you have been blog hopping, your chances of winning are better.
Here’s the full line up of the blogs…
