Linda has been a quiltmaker for the better part of 20 years, working with traditional patterns and designs for most of that time. While working full time, and being a wife to Mike and a mom to Chris and Andy, she fit in quilting as time allowed while raising her family. She found companionship in the membership she held in two guilds during that timeframe, and found a particular affinity for Quilt Challenges.
The Patchwork Pearl was opened in 2007; while Linda continued to work full time in the corporate world, she began to work as a professional speaker and event planner in the quilting world. Her website offers something for everyone in the quilt world – individual quilters who are looking for classes, groups or guilds who are looking for retreats and trunk shows, and professionals in the quilt space, who may be looking for help with business and marketing plans.
In 2010, Linda left her full-time day job to concentrate her efforts with The Patchwork Pearl, beginning with a bus trip into New York City to see the Joanna Rose exhibit “Infinite Variety” at the New York Folk Art Museum. That trip was the catalyst for the ever-evolving company, whose areas now include professional event management for crafters, pattern design and consulting to other professional crafts people.
Linda and husband Mike continue to live in the home that they raised their family in. They enjoy traveling the beautiful New England countryside in their Mazda Miata roadster in the summertime, where a favorite destination usually involves a quilt shop.
